AORN OF GREATER CLEVELAND
MEETING
MAY 18,2011
The meeting was called to order at 7:00pm by S.Petryszyn with a quorum present.The minutes were read and a motion
to approve the minutes was made by L.Bowen and a second to the motion was made by B.Bonus and the motion was
passed.
The treasury report was given by D.Klak treasurer.The amount in the treasury is $19,872.74.
Committee Reports:
Membership/L.Bowen-The membership remains the same.
Education/T.Washington-Agripina DeLeon will present this evening,"Mission Impossible"Mission Trip to the
Phillipines.There will be no CEU's awarded for this evening.
Tim Ruddy will be presenting on Acupuncture at the next education presentation.
The calendar for 2012 is open.
Hospitality/C.Keiser-Greg Martin is providing dinner for the chapter this evening.
Fund Raising/C.Keiser-The jewels were turned in to Prosperity and we owe $464.00.
Fund Raising committee is looking at upcoming projects:
Willoughby Hills Flea Market.
Wine Tasting for the Spring possibly in April in Chesterland at the Colonial Beverage.(A charge of $20/person)
( A recent seminar attended by B.Patton,suggest the benefits of wine to ones health.)
Legislation/L.Bowen/P.Chapek-Ohio council will meet at Hunans in Columbus on June 11,2011.
Nurses day will be on June 7,2011.
Communication/L.Bowen-Newsletter will be sent out from L.Bowens' home this Saturday at 10:00 am.Also if members
wish to continue to receive newsletters at home after December members need to advise L.Bowen.All members not
requesting a continuation of home newsletter will receive letters via email.There is a total of thirty-four (34) members
who do not have email addresses on file with the chapter.
Scholarship/P.Chapek-Applications for scholarships is being made computer friendly.Also a change regarding
professional affiliation so applicants can attach a resume on line.
Bylaws & Policy/L.Bowen/P.Chapek-sunday May 22,2011 there will be a meeting at L.Bowens' home at 11:00am.
Outreach/G.Sarratt/L.Gronowski-A report was given foir the outreach at Emile De Sauze on May 11,2011 by G.Sarratt.
The Komen three day walk -volunteers can sign up on line to help at a station.
October 20,2011 is the Mentor Career Day.
Behind the OR Doors is November 11,2011 and it is the beginning of Nurses week.
New business
There will be a raffle at the June installation dinner of the 2011 AORN Standards Book ,those members bringing a
package of diapers to donate to WomenSafe,Inc. will be entered in the drawing.
An acknowledgement of the donation to the Rose Parade was read.The donation is for the Nurses float for the parade
January 01,2013.If wish more information can go to www.flowers4the float.org.
A motion was made by L.Bowen and T.Brown to proceed with planning for the Tea on a Saturday in October.
