AORN OF GREATER CLEVELAND
CHAPTER MEETING
October 20,2010
The meeting was called to order at 7:02 pm by S.Petryszyn president.
The minutes were read and a correction was made by Clare Keiser.
The treasurers report was given.The amount in the treasury is $22,336.24.
The president announced that the next board meeting will be next month November 17,2010 at 6:15 pm.
Committe Reports:
• Ad hoc-A warm thank you was given for organinzing the Tea party which was headed by G. Sarratt,V.Lenin and Q.
Brooks.
• Communications-L.Bowen,The newsletter will be after Thanksgiving./L.Gronowski will also put it on OR link.
• Hospitality-C.Keiser,Dinner tonight was provided by the membership for the tea.
• Fund Raising-C.Keiser,Craft fairs will be on November 6th,and 7th and December 4th.
The Reverse Raffle is planned for February 13,2011 and tickets will be available at the next meeting in November.
• Legislation-Ohio Council meeting will be in Columbus at the Hunan restaurant on November 7,2010.
• Membership-L.Bowen,We have three members who re-joined/ the chapter.
• Outreach-L.Gronowski,Med Wish had their sorting event this past Saturday on October 16,2010.
A sign up sheet for behind the OR doors was sent around.The event will take place on the west side at Fairview Surgery
Center on November 13,2010.
• Bylaws & Policy-No report
• Education-T.Washington,Presentation tonight by Julie Cahn,RN,BSN,CNOR Obstructive Sleep Apnea. At the
present time we do not have a speaker for the November meeting.The speaker is no longer with Molnlycke Health Care.
• Ad hoc Chapter excellence award-The DVD for the award is on its way to Denver for submission at Congress.The
chapter was shown a copy of the DVD submitted.Those working on the DVD were L.Bowen,L.Gronowski,and N.Fellows.
Old Business-None
New Business-There was $100.00 budgeted for the video and the actual cost was $250.00.A motion by G.Sarratt and
second by D.Brown-Brumfield was made and passed to pay the difference in the cost for the DVD.
-Scholarship forms went out to the nursing schools last week.
-Judy Greig and Patty Chapek and Linda Bowen will be at the CWRU student organization exhibit.They will have a table
for our chapter.
-Linda Bowen,please give comments regarding the position statements to Linda.
