CHAPTER MEETING
SEPTEMBER 15, 2010

Installation of  officers not present at the June meeting was conducted by N.Fellows.
The chapter meeting of the Greater Cleveland AORN chapter was called to order at 7:00 pm by S .Petryszyn
president.
The minutes were read and approved after amendment. The amendment of election for Ohio Council of the chair and
the secretary.
A motion to approve the minutes by G.Sarratt and a second by D. Brown-Brumfield.

The amount in treasury $23,603.69.    

Updates from National

Committee Reports
•        Communications-L.Bowen/S.Petryszyn/The chapter web site was renewed for the year at a cost of $120.00 at
the August board meeting.
•        Hospitality-C.Keiser/The dinner for tonights meeting is provided by L.Calabrese from Steris
•        Fund Raising-C.Keiser/N.Fellows/A sign up sheet was passed around for the craft fairs on 11/6,11/7 and
12/4/10.Only two people are needed for each craft fair./Also Medwork need volunteers for 11/06 and 11/07/10 for the
Hough Norwood Clinic./The Reverse Raffle tickets will be available at the November member. The cost for couples will
be $90.00 and $50.00 for individuals.
•        Legislative/Ohio Council-P.Chapek/The house bill for the OR circulator is being rewritten It was introduced into
the Ohio Senate by Sue Morano.Senator Morano is an RN and she is running for re-election. Peri-op week for
nursing is November 8 through November 14,2010.
•        Membership-L.Bowen/The number of members presently in the chapter is 502.
•        Outreach-L.Gronowski/T.Brown/Behind the OR Doors will be November 13,2010 8am until noon at the Fairview
Surgery Center located on Columbia Rd./MedWish is having a sorting event on October 16,2010 on Euclid at the
Parker Hanna Bldg./ The board voted at the August meeting to sponsor a student table for the OSNA at CWR for a
fee of $1000.00. The chapter will receive a quarter page ad and will be able to set up a table at the event being held
October 23,2010.
•        Scholarship-P.Chapek/N.Fellows/The language for the scholarship being updated.
•        Education-T.Washington/T.Brown/Tonights CE program is Impact of C-Diff presented by L.Calabrese.
•        Ad Hoc-L.Gronowski/N.Fellows/L.Bowen-DVD and an essay reporting on chapter activities on the DVD due by
end of October if we are submitting DVD for the chapter excellence award.

   A  very interesting presentation was given by Ms.Brown  the daughter of T.Brown on her teaching while in
Cambodia.
Announcements
   -N.Fellows article is in this months Connection
   - Posters for OR nurse week will be available see B.Bonus and J.Lantis
   - There will be a mega meeting October 9,2010 at home of N.Fellows
   -There are 15 delegates/alternates positions for Congress for our chapter
   -C.Keiser read the list of candidates running for National office,all members will be eligible to vote for officers but
only delegates  will  vote on  issues on the ballot
   -G.Sarratt read the list for the First Annual Tea sponsored by the chapter members. A sign up list was sent around
to bring dishes for the event. There will be food,prizes,and hopefully a good time by all.
