Membership Meeting Minutes of AORN Greater Cleveland Chapter

January 18, 2012
President Laurie Gronowski called the meeting to order at 1900. We have a quorum. A motion to accept the
November, 2011 membership meeting minutes was made by Clare Keiser and Geneva Sarratt second with the
correction (annual dues for Ohio Council is $20 instead of $15). The motion was accepted and those present
approved the minutes as corrected.
Treasurer’s Report:
Dian Klak reported our balance of January 18, 2012 is $18310.67. $500 donation was sent to the National Foundation.
Membership:
Linda Bowen reported that we have approximately 476 chapter members. We welcome new members Mary Ann Audu
from UH and Bonita Williams from Beachwood ASC.
**Scholarship Winner**
Patty Chapek introduced and presented $500 to our Senior Nursing Student Scholarship Winner: Anne Marie
Cvjanovic.

Teresa Washington reviewed our 2012 Calendar: We would like to thank Ann Hyland who will present our program
tonight: “The Benefits of Reiki” which includes 1 contact hour.

Sherry Petryszyn will present a CNOR review course at Fairview Hospital on February 4, 2012. Please contact her for
additional information. If anyone has any suggestions for educational programs, please see me or a member of the
educational committee.
Legislative:
Patty Chapek reported that Nurses Day at the state capital in Columbus is February 29, 2012. Our next Ohio Council
Meeting is March 3, 2012 at Der Dutchman. Cost for lunch is $20. Please RSVP when you receive your email.
Congress Dinner with Ohio Council is March 25, 2012 at Bubba Gump for $36 per person. If you have not paid your
Ohio Council dues of $20 please see Patty Chapek.
Communication: Laurie Gronowski has
scheduled our next Mega Meeting for March 10, 2012at the Beachwood Surgery Auditorium
located on the 1st floor pass the lab. Please bring a snack. Meeting starts at 7:30AM. Please

if you have a problem viewing the newsletter.
Fund Raising:
Laurie Gronowski discussed the Wine Tasting Event April 14 2012 from 6PM – 8PM in Chesterland at Colonial
Beverage and asked for a motion to sell raffle tickets at $1 each or 6 for $5 in advance and at the event. Linda Bowen
moved and Sherry Petryszyn seconded to sell raffle tickets in advance and at the event as stated. Motion carried.
Hospitality:
Clare Keiser reporting – We will serve coffee and tea at our February meeting. Please bring your own meal if you like.
No dinner will be provided.
Old Business:
Please note that our Bylaws and Policy changes are on the web site at OR Nurse Link. Sherry Petryszyn will review
the bylaw changes which will be discussed at Congress. We have 11 Delegates signed up for Congress. If you are
attending Congress, think about being a Congress Volunteer.
Outreach Activity: Med Works February 25, 2012Free Medical Clinic needs volunteers. Please call 216 231-5350 or
email mary@medworksusa.org. The next Medwish event is January 25, 2012 from 4PM to 6PM.
Laurie Gronowski asked for a motion to adjourn the meeting, it was moved by Clare Keiser and seconded by Geneva
Sarratt. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 1930.
